Get ready to explore the world in a whole new way. Google Maps is taking things to the next level with its latest AI-powered updates for immersive view, Live View, and electric vehicle (EV) drivers. Whether you're planning a trip, navigating unfamiliar locations, or driving an EV, Google Maps has got you covered with an intuitive and sustainable experience.
Exciting news for all Google Maps users. Google is taking your maps experience to a whole new level with new updates and features designed to make exploring and navigating the world easier, and more sustainable. AI is at the forefront of these new developments, and you'll be able to feel like you're right there, even before you visit, with the new Immersive View. This new feature fuses billions of Street View and aerial images to create a rich, digital model of the world, and layers helpful information like the weather, traffic, and how busy a place is, so you can plan your visit with all the information you need.
Live View is another exciting new feature, using AI and augmented reality to help you find things around you - like restaurants, parks, and transit stations - just by lifting your phone. You can see helpful information like when a place is open, if it's busy right now, and how highly it's rated, so you can make an informed decision and maximize your time. Live View is now available in London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, San Francisco, and Tokyo, and is set to expand to Barcelona, Dublin, and Madrid in the coming months.
Indoor Live View is also getting an upgrade, with over 1,000 new airports, train stations, and malls in cities like Barcelona, Berlin, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Paris, and more set to get the AR-powered navigation feature in the coming months.
And for all you electric vehicle (EV) drivers, Google Maps has you covered too. Maps will suggest the best charging stop on any trip that requires one, based on factors like current traffic, your charge level, and expected energy consumption. The ‘very fast’ charging filter will help you find charging stations with 150 kilowatts or higher, so you can fill up your car in less than 40 minutes. And if you're running errands, Maps will also show you when places like supermarkets have charging stations on-site, making it even easier to choose a location that can charge your car while you shop.
With all these exciting new updates and features, exploring and navigating the world has never been easier or more immersive. Stay tuned for more from Google Maps!
